Before Switchpoint Coffee was a roastery, it was a cup of coffee handed to Ray — a wheelchair-bound man who stopped by Switchpoint Community Resource Center one cold morning. That encounter became the origin story for the nonprofit's social enterprise arm, now operating a roastery and café at 214 N 1000 E in St. George, marked by an orange awning on the east side of the city's commercial grid.
Beans are sourced organically, in partnership with indigenous, women-operated cooperatives in producing countries. The retail lineup includes four roast levels — Ray of Sunshine (light), Underdog (medium), Game Changer (dark), and a decaf — plus K-cups and merchandise. The Saturday farmers market presence supplements the storefront. One hundred percent of proceeds fund the Switchpoint Community Resource Center (EIN: 76-0740457): 700 people permanently housed, 391,000 safe shelter nights provided, 172,000 hot meals served, per published impact figures. Open Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 3 PM.
