Southern Utah Art Guild

The Southern Utah Art Guild runs two cooperative galleries in downtown St. George: Arrowhead Gallery at 68 E Tabernacle, in the heart of the historic district, and Red Cliff Gallery at 220 N 200 E. Both operate as artist cooperatives — the thirty to thirty-five juried artists whose work fills the walls are also the members who keep the space open, rotate shows, staff the receptions, and manage the exhibitions. Membership is the operating model, and the Guild is the nonprofit that holds it together.

What Cooperative Means Here

At Arrowhead Gallery, artwork rotates several times per year and one artist each month receives a featured-artist spotlight with an expanded display and a public reception. The Connect program, funded through the Utah Arts Alliance, offers new and established artists critique sessions and professional development. Free art classes, workshops, vendor events, and Red Cliff Gallery shows round out the membership benefits. The Guild's stated mission — "building a community of confident, proficient, successful artists" — is operational rather than aspirational: the programs exist to move artists from working alone to working in a supported community.

Tabernacle Street and the Downtown Arts Corridor

68 E Tabernacle is a short block from Ancestor Square and the heart of whatever downtown St. George's pedestrian arts corridor has become in the last decade. Arrowhead Gallery is one of the only all-local cooperative galleries in the Washington County footprint — a format that keeps the work and the revenue close to the artists who make it.
