Brothers Kyle and Kade Boyer founded CrossFit Dixie in 2009 for what they describe as a simple reason: they wanted a great place to train without the frills of a commercial gym, and hoped to get enough members to keep the lights on. That modest origin story produced what is now one of the longest-running CrossFit affiliates in Southern Utah, voted Best CrossFit gym in the area by Best of Southern Utah and consistently cited as the community anchor for functional fitness in St. George's western corridor.
The practice is that CrossFit affiliates are independently owned and operated businesses — the CrossFit affiliation is a licensing arrangement, not a franchise structure with absentee corporate ownership. CrossFit Dixie is the Boyer family's business, not a managed unit of a national fitness chain. The coaching team built around that foundation now includes more than a decade of accumulated instructor experience: coaches like Stacy Leavitt (Level 1 certified since 2010, joined 2009) and Trever Thompson (collegiate baseball background, coaching since 2015) are long-tenured enough that many members have worked with the same coaches for years.
The gym is at 476 E Riverside Drive, Suite 3B, near the Riverside commercial corridor on the west side of the city. Programming covers standard CrossFit group classes, strength work, and Olympic lifting — no boutique extensions, no wellness retail.
