Kanab is a town of around 5,000 people at the junction of US-89 and the roads that feed into Grand Staircase, Zion, and the North Rim. It is not a place served by a deep bench of HVAC contractors, which is why Desert Air Heating & Cooling matters more here than a comparable company would in St. George.
In February 2024, Tad Casebolt and Cody Forsyth acquired the company. Casebolt brought over 22 years in the U.S. Army — most of it flying Apache, Blackhawk, and Lakota helicopters as Pilot in Command. Military helicopter pilots develop a particular fluency with complex mechanical systems in demanding environments, and Casebolt brings that diagnostic rigor explicitly to HVAC. Forsyth had been with the business nearly since its 2017 founding and provides the institutional knowledge of the existing operation.
The company serves residential and commercial customers across Kanab and extends into northern Arizona — Page, Fredonia, and the surrounding canyon country. The service menu covers air conditioning installation and repair, heating systems (furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, water heaters), ductless mini-splits, commercial HVAC, and air purification. For a remote market where the next option might be a hundred miles away, that menu depth matters.
The yard is at 395 S 100 E, Unit 7, Kanab.
