The Bluff Above Bluff Street
The building sits on the top of the lava-rock bluff that defines the western edge of downtown St. George. From the dining room the floor falls away into the valley below — Bluff Street running north-to-south, the Sunset Boulevard corridor stretching west, the red rock of Pioneer Park visible past it. The view is the room’s first sales pitch and probably its best one. Heers’ construction-and-design background is part of why the renovation works: glass on the canyon side, an open kitchen, a bar that doubles for the sunset crowd, a dining room that holds a fine-dining feel without forcing a tasting-menu format.
A Steakhouse That Came From Anniversary Inns
The Anniversary Inn properties Heers built before Cliffside ran on the same logic — heavily themed, designed-for-occasion rooms where the architecture carries half the experience. Cliffside lifts that thinking out of the lodging context and lands it on top of a St. George bluff. The kitchen runs a steakhouse-leaning American menu — prime cuts, seafood, the standards — and the room is one of the few St. George fine-dining options that isn’t built around a hotel brand or an Ancestor Square tenancy.
Cliffside in the 435
For a register of locally rooted Southern Utah businesses, Cliffside is a clean listing: single location, single owner, documented founder story, and a building Heers physically rebuilt before opening it. The brand has strong web presence, which means the consulting opportunity is less about basic site cleanup and more about schema, structured data, and the kind of AI-search readiness that Southern Utah independents will increasingly need as travel research moves through model-driven interfaces. Cliffside is one of the few St. George rooms that already has the bones to support that work.
