Cedar City Rotary Club

The Cedar City Rotary Club was chartered in 1925 and has been doing civic work in Iron County for a century. That century includes the building and maintaining of the Rotary Centennial Veterans Park — a permanent community green space whose name carries the club's founding anniversary in its title. It includes a July Jamboree festival and car show that functions as the club's primary annual fundraiser and doubles as one of Cedar City's summer community events. It includes ongoing partnerships with Iron County Care and Share, Cedar City Hospital, and the Fiddler's Elementary School mobile pantry.

What a Century of Service Looks Like

The club's project list runs from graffiti removal on freeway overpasses to SUU scholarships for Iron County students to volunteer hours at local nonprofits. The July Jamboree brings the community out; the quieter work — graffiti, pantry support, hospital partnerships — happens year-round without press releases. Cedar City Rotary is one of the few service clubs in the 435 footprint that can trace a continuous operating record back to the Calvin Coolidge administration.

Iron County's Civic Backbone

Cedar City has a university, a Shakespeare festival, and a museum on an internationally recognized arts campus — infrastructure that positions it as a regional cultural center. The Cedar City Rotary Club is part of the civic layer underneath all of that: the organization that has been showing up for community work since before most of those institutions existed.

Cedar City Rotary in the 435

For a register of locally rooted Southern Utah organizations, the Cedar City Rotary Club is the Iron County companion to the St. George club's Washington County record — a hundred-year civic service organization that has left its name on a veterans park and its work throughout the Iron County social safety net.
