Church Rocks is the trail you can ride on a long airport layover. The trailhead sits a quarter-mile off I-15 exit 22 outside Leeds, and the four-mile loop runs across a slickrock terrace with a few rocky drops, sand connectors, and the namesake rock formation visible from the trail. It is the most-traveled trail on this side of the Hurricane Cliffs and gets ridden by locals as a quick after-work loop and by visitors as a freeway-adjacent introduction to St. George slickrock.
The freeway-adjacent loop
The Church Rocks parking is a packed-dirt pull-off with no facilities — water, restroom, and food are at the Leeds gas station two minutes back up exit 22. The loop runs counterclockwise across the slickrock terrace, drops into a sand wash, climbs to the namesake formation, and returns via a flow section back to the parking. The whole ride is rideable in 45 minutes by an intermediate rider.
The named drops
Church Rocks has three named drops along the lower half of the loop — small slickrock roll-ins, none catastrophic, all with chicken lines for riders not committing. The drops are the technical highlight; the rest of the loop is intermediate slickrock and packed sand.
What sits at the trailhead
The Red Cliffs Campground sits a few miles up exit 22 toward Leeds, and many visitors combine a Church Rocks ride with a night at the campground. The campground itself has been on a closed-and-reopened cycle for redesign; verify operating status before counting on it. The Babylon Arch hike is also accessible from this trailhead area, which makes Church Rocks a convenient half-day stop on a multi-recreation trip.

Church Rocks is the gateway trail for the Red Cliffs side of Washington County's mountain bike network. Riders heading to St. George from points north (Salt Lake, Cedar City) often pull off at exit 22 for a stretch-the-legs ride before continuing into town.
