Rising K Ranch

Klay Klemic has been riding horses his entire life, working large cattle ranches across Nevada, Utah, Arizona, South Dakota, and New Mexico before establishing Rising K Ranch at 2937 W 3800th S, Cedar City. He learned formal horsemanship refinement from established trainers in the region — including Jim Montgomery in Veyo — and his training philosophy centers on three things: horse psychology, anatomical understanding, and timing. The goal is a willing partnership between horse and rider, not compliance produced by pressure.

The ranch operates on two tracks. The trail riding program offers four options — the 30-minute Juniper Loop ($40), the 1.5-hour Cedar Trail Ride ($95), the Sunset Horseback Ride ($110), and the 2.5 to 3-hour Half Day Horseback Ride ($165) — all private and guided, seven days a week except Sundays. The horse training program takes horses into full board at $1,200 per month with a three-month minimum — covered stalls, twice-daily feed, five to six days per week of work, with a cowhorse foundation method.

Klemic sells trained horses from his own stock, which provides an implicit quality signal: the horses available for rides and training are horses he's built himself.
