Dixie Pediatrics has the longest continuous run of any independent pediatric practice in Washington County. Dr. Twiggs arrived from Mesa, Arizona in the spring of 1988 to become the only pediatrician in what was then a quiet desert town of about 25,000 people. The practice has grown with the city — now staffed by four physicians and a pediatric nurse practitioner — while holding its position as an independent private practice rather than consolidating into a hospital department.
The current clinical team includes Dr. Adam Wahlstrom, DO; Dr. Jamie Vane, DO; Dr. Austin Healy, MD; Dr. Ann Ahee, DNP; and Russell Lee, PNP. Standard hours run Monday through Friday, nine to five, with a Night Light urgent-care window from six to ten in the evening that parents of sick toddlers learn to appreciate quickly. The 1240 E 100 S address places the clinic in the same east-side professional corridor as Callahan Clinic and several other long-tenured independent practices.
Thirty-eight years of patient continuity in a single practice is a data point worth surfacing. Most pediatric care in the metro has folded into Intermountain or Revere Health systems over the last decade; Dixie Pediatrics is the anchor that predates all of it.
