Cole West (Cole West Home)

Washington City (Southern Utah office) · Listed in the 435 Alliance — a Southern Utah register of vetted, locally owned businesses.

Colin Wright launched C.W. Group in 2016 and immediately acquired the Southern Utah assets of Henry Walker Homes, rebranding that operation as Cole West Home. The deeper lineage runs through his father Gary Wright and Wright Development. In January 2025, the parent consolidated five sister labels — C.W. URBAN, Cole West Home, C.W. LAND Co., C.W. DESIGN, and C.W. BUILD — under the single Cole West name, with Darlene Carter as CEO. The corporate office is in Centerville. The Southern Utah operation runs out of 2250 N. Coral Canyon Boulevard in Washington City.

Vertically Integrated, Not a Custom Shop

Cole West functions simultaneously as land developer, residential GC, commercial developer, and architecture-and-design firm. That stack is rare in Southern Utah; most of the 435’s active builders pick one role and stick with it. Cole West acquires the dirt, designs the master plan, builds the houses, and in some cases keeps the commercial pads. That makes the company the closest thing the region has to a fully integrated regional homebuilder-developer, and it is the largest homebuilder operating in Southern Utah by active community count.

Active Southern Utah Communities

Reporting from stgeorgeutah.com documents an unusually broad current portfolio: Terra, a master-planned community near Coral Canyon zoned for nightly rental — a meaningful product line in a corridor where short-term rental zoning has become a primary investment lever; The Cove, a luxury condominium project at Desert Color with the “Sky Deck” amenity floor; Solis, a 244-residence master-planned community priced from roughly $400,000 to over a million; and Rise, a 180-unit townhome project in Washington City. Cole West participates regularly in the St. George Area Parade of Homes.

Licensing Posture

Cole West in the 435

For the 435 register, Cole West occupies a different slot than the local custom-home shops or the multigenerational production builders. It is the integrated regional player — Centerville parent, real Washington City office, Darlene Carter at the top, Colin Wright as founder, and an active community count that touches almost every active growth corridor in Washington County. The Wasatch Front roots are real, but so is the Coral Canyon address.
