Mark Bold planted the first vines at Dammeron Valley Vineyards in 2014 on a five-acre parcel fifteen minutes north of St. George, growing European varietals on a volcanic basalt plateau near Veyo. Five years later he invited John Delaney — then working as a sommelier — to help harvest. They went into partnership in 2019. The winery is the product of that handshake.
Production is estate-grown and organically farmed: no herbicides, no pesticides, all crushing, fermenting, pressing, and aging done on-site before bottling. The 2022 vintage ran twelve varietals and several blends — Malbec, Tempranillo, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Petite Syrah, and Malvasia among them. Malvasia is an Italian white rare enough in American viticulture that its presence in a Dammeron Valley vineyard is worth noting. Additional acreage from the Hope Street vineyard, previously Mark's father-in-law's property, supplements the estate. The tasting room at 1315 N Horseman's Park Drive runs Tuesday through Saturday 11 AM to 6 PM, by appointment.
