A+ Garage Doors (A Plus Garage Door Repair)

St. George · Listed in the 435 Alliance — a Southern Utah register of vetted, locally owned businesses.

Carrie Kelsch started A+ Garage Doors out of her house in Herriman in 2005 — Salt Lake County, not Washington County, with one truck and a phone. Twenty years later, the company runs branches in seven Utah counties and a Nevada operation that reaches into the Las Vegas valley. The Southern Utah branch is the more recent half of that story.

A Wasatch Front Shop That Came South

A+ opened the St. George showroom roughly five years ago — call it 2020, the post-pandemic year when half of Salt Lake’s tradespeople seemed to discover Washington County simultaneously. The branch began with a single technician and has since grown into a full-service shop. Brady Palmer runs the Southern Utah and Nevada region. The showroom sits at 3284 E. Deseret Drive #17, in the cluster of trades and supply houses south of the freeway off Brigham Road.

What’s on the Truck

The work is the standard residential and commercial menu — spring, opener, roller, cable, panel, sensor, and weather-seal repair; new-door installation in steel, glass, aluminum, wood, and custom composites; tune-ups and 24/7 emergency response. Service area extends across St. George, Washington, Hurricane, Ivins, Santa Clara, and Cedar City, and across the state line through the affiliated A Plus Garage Door brand into Henderson, Paradise, Spring Valley, Enterprise, and Mesquite. For a Washington County homeowner who also owns property in Mesquite or Vegas, that’s a meaningful single-vendor footprint.

Licensing and Standing

Utah DOPL contractor license #8979136-5501 is published on the company’s service-area pages — unusual transparency for a garage door shop, where most operators bury or omit the number entirely. The business holds a BBB profile under A Plus Garage Doors, LLC, has been featured in Utah Business for its 2021 expansion announcement, and was the subject of a stgeorgeutah.com retrospective for the 20-year milestone in 2025.

A+ in the 435

This is a Salt Lake-headquartered company with a real St. George branch, not a phone number that routes to Sandy. The showroom is staffed, the license is on the page, and the regional manager is named. For the 435 register, it is the most heavily documented garage door contractor operating in Washington and Iron counties — a deeper paper trail than the trade usually produces. The trade-off is that A+ is not a Hurricane company. It is a Wasatch Front company that built a Southern Utah branch on the same growth wave that brought the Walmart Supercenter, the Sand Hollow second homes, and the people who own them.
